Help Us Salute Trailblazing Republican Women!
Dear Friends,
You're invited! Soon we will commemorate the 100th Anniversary of women's suffrage here in Washington State. Women across the country gained the right to vote thanks to the leadership and sacrifice of Republicans like Susan B. Anthony and Sojourner Truth.
In Washington State, Republican leaders like Emma Smith DeVoe ensured that Washington was the fifth state to pass the suffrage – a full decade before the federal government followed suit.
Since then, Republican women have continued to be trailblazers; Republican women were also the first women to serve as State Senator, Senate President Pro Tempore, and Senate Majority Leader!
Join us as we honor these and many other trailblazing Republican women at our 32nd Annual Fall Dinner on November 1, 2009!
· State Senator Jeanette Hayner (R) – First woman State Senate Majority Leader, and our 2009 Slade Gorton Lifetime Achievement Award winner.
· State Senator Reba Hern (R) – First women admitted to the Washington State Bar; first woman elected to the Washington State Senate.
· State Senator Ellen Craswell (R) – First woman to be chosen Senate Pro Tem.
· Congresswoman Catherine Dean May (R) – First woman to represent Washington in the House of Representatives.
· Congresswoman Jennifer Dunn (R) – First woman to run for House Majority Leader.
This dinner is going to be one of the State Party's best yet. The cost is only $100 ($25 less than last year) in honor of the 100th Anniversary of women’s suffrage. This is an evening that promises to be both inspiring and special—that's why I hope you can all make it and help me honor our Trailblazing Republican Women.
And remember -- Purchase your ticket by October 19th and be entered into a drawing to win TWO FREE TICKETS to the roundtable discussion and VIP reception with photo opportunity (a $1,000 value)!
I look forward to seeing you all there,
Sincerely,

Luke Esser
Chairman
