Bellevue, WA– Washington State Republican Party Chairman Luke Esser issued the following statement today on President Obama’s new health care experiment:

“President Obama has conducted expensive experiments with our tax dollars and our economy. Now he wants to conduct a $1.6 trillion experiment that will make a Frankenstein monster out of our health care system. Make no mistake about it; the Democrats’ health care experiment is a costly and dangerous government takeover that will put bureaucrats in Washington, DC in charge of the medical treatments that families receive here in Washington state.

President Obama’s recent speeches and press conferences prove that he is using the health care issue as a political football. He wants to notch a “win” for his administration at all costs, and has shown no interest in seeking bipartisan cooperation. Republicans in Congress have offered common-sense health care reforms to expand access, reduce costs and protect the doctor-patient relationship, but President Obama and the Democrats are obsessed with ramming through a government takeover of health care before citizens wake up to the threat posed by their plans.

Today we’ve launched a ‘Protect our Health Care’ Action Center to help get Washington Republicans involved in this critical debate. We’re asking every Republican to contact their congressional representatives, Republican or Democrat, to urge them to oppose President Obama’s risky health care experiment. The next few weeks will determine if the Frankenstein monster of government-run health care comes to life, or simply remains a cautionary tale about the dangers of unchecked arrogance.”
