Bellevue, WA -- Today the Public Disclosure Commission confirmed in a letter to the WSRP that they are investigating our complaint filed last Wednesday that the campaign of Christine Gregoire has accepted more than $12,000 in illegal contributions from out-of-state PACs which lack the in-state donors required under state law.
Under state law, out-of-state PACs must have at least ten in-state donors who contributed at least ten dollars each during the 180 days preceding the out-of-state PAC's contribution. At least five donors to Gregoire who donated a collective total of more than $12,000 lacked the in-state donors required, and some had no in-state donors.
"We have urged the PDC to expedite their investigation in the same way that Judge Kallas expedited the deposition of Dino Rossi, even though it caused him to cancel multiple campaign appearances less than a week before Election Day,'" WSRP Chairman Luke Esser said. "There shouldn't be a double-standard that allows the Gregoire investigation to be slow-tracked by the PDC until after the election. The people of the state deserve to know the truth about these serious charges before they vote on Tuesday."
