Letter From RNC Chairman Reince Priebus To NBC News

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus sent this letter on October 30 to NBC News suspending the RNC’s partnership for the February 26, 2016 debate:

Mr. Andrew Lack
Chairman, NBC News
30 Rockefeller Plaza
New York, New York 10112

Dear Mr. Lack,

I write to inform you that pending further discussion between the Republican National Committee (RNC) and our presidential campaigns, we are suspending the partnership with NBC News for the Republican primary debate at the University of Houston on February 26, 2016. The RNC’s sole role in the primary debate process is to ensure that our candidates are given a full and fair opportunity to lay out their vision for America’s future. We simply cannot continue with NBC without full consultation with our campaigns.

The CNBC network is one of your media properties, and its handling of the debate was conducted in bad faith. We understand that NBC does not exercise full editorial control over CNBC’s journalistic approach. However, the network is an arm of your organization, and we need to ensure there is not a repeat performance.

CNBC billed the debate as one that would focus on “the key issues that matter to all voters—job growth, taxes, technology, retirement and the health of our national economy.”  That was not the case. Before the debate, the candidates were promised an opening question on economic or financial matters. That was not the case. Candidates were promised that speaking time would be carefully monitored to ensure fairness. That was not the case.  Questions were inaccurate or downright offensive. The first question directed to one of our candidates asked if he was running a comic book version of a presidential campaign, hardly in the spirit of how the debate was billed.

While debates are meant to include tough questions and contrast candidates’ visions and policies for the future of America, CNBC’s moderators engaged in a series of “gotcha” questions, petty and mean-spirited in tone, and designed to embarrass our candidates. What took place Wednesday night was not an attempt to give the American people a greater understanding of our candidates’ policies and ideas.

I have tremendous respect for the First Amendment and freedom of the press. However, I also expect the media to host a substantive debate on consequential issues important to Americans. CNBC did not.

While we are suspending our partnership with NBC News and its properties, we still fully intend to have a debate on that day, and will ensure that National Review remains part of it.

I will be working with our candidates to discuss how to move forward and will be in touch.

Reince Priebus
Chairman, Republican National Committee

Media Bias Repeatedly Exposed!

October 29: The big story at last night’s debate is the justified disgust and contempt directed toward the unfair mainstream media.

The good news is that Republicans are effectively fighting back, intent on victory in 2016.  To help elect great Republican candidates across the board, please click here to donate $25, $50, $75 or more.

Media bias was repeatedly exposed in Colorado as the normally respectable CNBC became the surrogate for far left MSNBC and the mouthpiece for the Democratic Party.

Vote YES On Initiative 1366

Here’s a fresh perspective on why you should vote YES on Initiative 1366:

“Candidate Jay Inslee was Grover Norquist on steroids: ‘I would veto new taxes in the state of Washington.’  He repeatedly said higher taxes were the ‘wrong way to go.’ ….

“But within 24 hours of becoming Governor, Inslee ‘pulled a Gregoire’ and became the biggest cheerleader for taxes our state has ever had.  He was for everything: income taxes, capital gains taxes, cap and tax, carbon taxes, fuel taxes, car tab taxes, marijuana taxes, beer taxes, business taxes (paid by their customers), etc.

“Jay Inslee is the poster child for I-1366 because he perfectly illustrates why the people must permanently protect themselves with a 2/3-for-taxes constitutional amendment.

“Jay Inslee personifies why I-1366 is essential….

“When thinking of Jay Inslee and taxes, I’m reminded of this: ‘Listen, and understand!  That Terminator is out there!  It can’t be bargained with.  It can’t be reasoned with.  It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear.  And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.’

“Taxpayers must protect themselves from Inslee’s insatiable tax appetite.  Because he will not stop, ever, until you are dead (broke)….”

(The above was excerpted from a message sent out by the organizers in support of Initiative 1366.)

BELLEVUE, WA, October 16 – Susan Hutchison, the Chairman of the Washington State Republican Party, issued the following statement:

“Congressman Reichert has an exemplary record of public service, and the people of his district, Washington State, and the country will be well served by him focusing on his current role.

Chairman’s Statement: Mark Miloscia For State Auditor

BELLEVUE, WA, October 8 – Susan Hutchison, the Chairman of the Washington State Republican Party, issued the following statement:

“As newly announced candidate for State Auditor, State Senator Mark Miloscia will bring leadership and much needed integrity when elected.  After the mostly vacant term of the federally indicted Democratic incumbent, Troy Kelley, Mark Miloscia will restore faith in our government processes and oversight.

“Miloscia has the skills and experience as  taxpayer advocate, reformer, and fighter for government accountability.”

Sometimes Politicians Don’t Tell The Truth

She’s not telling the truth.

Democratic candidate Carol Gregory supports a capital gains INCOME tax, despite her misleading campaign mailing above.

A capital gains INCOME tax is an INCOME tax; it would tax INCOME that is already taxed up to 28% by the federal government.

It would, for the first time, set up a new state government bureaucracy for the express purpose of processing the reporting of INCOME.  That bureaucracy would be the first step in implementing a state INCOME tax.

The King County and state Democrats’ platforms support a state INCOME tax[1][2] and mandates that Democrat legislators and candidates use “all legal means at their disposal … toward enactment” of a state INCOME tax.[3]  That’s why the Democrats consider electing Carol Gregory a “priority campaign.”[4]

And by the way, a capital gains INCOME tax hurts job creation and retirees who depend on savings to provide INCOME in their old age.

HELP US DEFEAT CAROL GREGORY.  Donate $25, $50, $75, $100, or more to elect Republican Teri Hickel to the State House.

Adopted October 1st, 2015

Whereas President Barack Obama has failed to disclose “all related material and annexes” of the so-called Iran Nuclear Agreement to Congress or the American public;

Whereas that Agreement is reported to provide an estimated $150 billion to the nation of Iran in sanctions relief and other forms of aid;

Whereas the nation of Iran is recognized as a leading sponsor of fundamentalist Islamic terrorism around the world; and Whereas the Iran Nuclear Agreement is almost certain to hasten Iran’s acquisition of nuclear weapons:

Therefore, be it Resolved that

The Washington State Republican Party stands opposed to the Iran Nuclear Agreement and calls upon both United States Senate Majority Leader and U.S. House Speaker to submit resolutions in their respective bodies declaring that
1) President Obama has failed to comply with subsection (a) (1) (A) of the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015 (a.k.a. the Corker-Cardin Act); and,
2) being bound by subsection (b) (3) of the same federal law, President Obama may not lift existing economic sanctions against Iran.
