Democrats Lie About Their Record Ahead of the 2022 Midterm Elections

BELLEVUE – The Washington State Republican Party (WSRP) released the following statement in response to growing lies and fearmongering from the Democrat Party leading up to the 2022 midterm elections.

“Democrats continue to run lies about both their own record and lies against our Republican candidates to scare voters and shift their focus away from dinner table issues like inflation, jobs, and the economy – all issues that Republicans are winning by large margins according to recent polling.”

Rep. Kim Schrier continues to claim independence from her party and that she is ‘pushing back’ against the Biden administration. She claimed similar independence from her party in 2018, when she said she was unsure if she would vote for Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House in order to appease her liberal base. Once elected – of course – things changed. Not only did she support Nancy Pelosi to become Speaker of the House, she has maintained a 100% voting record with the Speaker and the Biden Administration. Actions speak louder than words. Voters should not trust Kim Schrier’s independence and should instead send Republican Matt Larkin to Congress to represent the 8th District.

Senator Patty Murray continues to make false claims against US Senate candidate Tiffany Smiley, recently claiming that Smiley and Senate Republicans would gut Social Security and Medicare, a false claim that has been repeated for decades. The truth is, if Patty Murray had her way, Social Security may have faced insolvency and Medicare wouldn’t cover seniors’ prescription drugs at all!

  • In 2003, Patty Murray voted AGAINST bipartisan legislation to add a prescription drug benefit to Medicare.
  • Early last year, a bipartisan proposal to help shore up and boost the solvency of Social Security and Medicare passed with 71 votes – Patty Murray being a vote AGAINST the proposal.
  • Background information here.

Voters should not fall for Patty Murray’s fearmongering campaign and instead send Republican Tiffany Smiley to the Senate to fight for our state and push back against the Democrat’s radical agenda that is hurting working families and making our communities less safe.
