BELLEVUE – Chairman Heimlich released the following statement after Governor Inslee’s latest press conference announcing three new advisory groups.

“Governor Inslee continues to show a lack of leadership. Today’s press conference shows he has no interest in seeking input from those with opposing views. He is blatantly ignoring the State Legislature in favor of appointed advisory groups filled with his far-left supporters.

1 in 5 Washingtonians are filing for unemployment, but Governor Inslee demagogues and uses straw man arguments against those calling for him to safely reopen our economy. Instead of following the lead of Democratic Governor Polis in Colorado, he continues to insist on keeping small business closed.

Washingtonians responded admirably and sheltered in place for the last six weeks to keep our communities safe. Now, the science shows we can responsibly get back to work and it’s time for Governor Inslee to do what is right and safely reopen Washington.”

There are several Lawsuits against Inslee! AG Barr take note!

Todd · May 5, 2020 at 6:01 pm

Why should he worry about the unemployed or small business? He gets his pay just like clockwork… He is a disgrace and should be sent to prison…. Definition of Crook

Cathy mcnish · May 5, 2020 at 6:19 pm

Mark Nicholson · May 6, 2020 at 8:46 am

Inslee is a POS just like the Brown and Newsom are in Oregon and California. These liberal governors are dangerous and running their states with false powers They need to be reprimanded!

It would seem that the Gov. wants to be a dictator, not a leader. I am in the old age group and have most of the illnesses that are also a problem. HOWEVER, I have to watch my grown grandchildren having to put some of their dreams on hold, because of the dictates of this man. Has he ever run a company??? Has he ever thought past the problems that the “green state” will cause??? My forefathers fought against many problems and I think we as individuals can fight against problems that come our way and succeed.

Jim Griffith · May 6, 2020 at 10:53 am

Inslee is a Moron. He wants guidelines to reopen the state so why didn’t he have them ready. Instead he is waiting to write them this week and says they will be ready the first part of next week. He was starting phase 1 of his plan yesterday so why wasn’t his guidelines ready by yesterday so he could start phase 1 on time. Its all about control he needs voted out in November.

Carrie Pennell · May 6, 2020 at 11:30 am

Inslee is a tyrant and needs to be removed from office!

Jeff Estep · May 6, 2020 at 5:18 pm

What can we do to override inslee?

donald Cole · May 6, 2020 at 7:08 pm

Reopen America! Stop wearing masks as they do not help people who are well and cause more harm. This virus will have to die & we can fight it off and be healthier for it. The longer we shelter & hide the weaker our immune system gets. Stop the insanity. Inslee needs to check into the closest mental facility for evaluation because he is clearly quite ill.

Randy W Allessio · May 6, 2020 at 8:53 pm

This Jerk (Inslee) must go, and go now! He no longer works for the people. I am embarrassed that he is our Governor. He was a failure as a Legislator and he is worse as Governor

Bob Knows · May 7, 2020 at 7:40 am

The leftist Democrat agenda is to destroy America by destroying our jobs and economic ability.

Alan Kolkow · May 7, 2020 at 8:18 am

Maybe if he were waiting for a check every week not knowing whether he was approved for benefits or not, he would have a different viewpoint on the matter. It’s so easy to dictate these issues when you have a steady check rolling in on schedule.

Ray Adams · May 7, 2020 at 8:25 am

Spot on. This politician is not fit to be governor. He’s forcing his liberal agenda on the State rather than managing the power of our citizens to live through this virus. His simpleton response actions, inability to see through bias statistic, and failure to empower local politicians are tearing the State apart.

Maureen Bernardy · May 7, 2020 at 11:05 am

Does the WA State Constitution say that the Governor can issue a 30 DAY Emergency order, and that after the 30 days expire, he must consult the Legislature?

Jodi Dotson · May 7, 2020 at 7:03 pm

Governor Inslee it is past time to allow people to get back to their work, as many will be searching for work due layoffs because of your decision to close the State. You need to reopen now unless you would like to start paying wages for all those that have lost their income due to your dictator behavior. Allow the counties with low covid counts to reopen and move on from their. The more populated areas will need a more structured program for reopening, but many counties and people are suffering from your poor decisions. Do the right thing and get people back to where they belong (WORKING)

Bonnue · May 7, 2020 at 9:46 pm

What is with you..its We the People !!

Archie C Tweedie · May 9, 2020 at 8:16 am

“United States Code Title 18, Section 242. It basically says that anyone using “law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom” to deprive any person of “any rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States” may be fined or imprisoned. Historically it’s mostly applied to police officers, but it may be time to apply the law more broadly.”

Jerrie M Joseph · May 9, 2020 at 10:33 am

It’s time for us all to wake up to what’s really happening.

Gloria Nolley · May 9, 2020 at 4:51 pm

I think Inslee is scared of his own shadow. He has no concept of what is going on.

Robert K Freda · May 14, 2020 at 10:26 am

I don’t see any news on where the republicans in this state are on this? If they are arguing with the socialist democrats where is the coverage? I want to see our republicans step in and start figting Gov Jack wad and mayor mcdumbass! Start representing us! Call out the democrats for what they are, snakes in the grass, Seattle used to be beautiful, now it’s a cess pool thanks to the democratic lack of leadership team! Please republican senators, start fighting for us today!

William · May 25, 2020 at 9:46 am

This is great. We need to change our course. Starting with Inslee. Get him out. It’s going to be most important this year as well to go to the polls to vote. No mail in ballots. Too much at risk and too many hands involved.

Lance · June 12, 2020 at 12:42 pm

My wife has qualified for furloughed unemployment and hasn’t received a dollar in (2 mos)!!! Unacceptable!!! Hundreds of millions of dollars of fraudulent claims have been paid out in Washington on Inslee’s watch. Also, when asked about the 6 blocks on Capital Hill that have been barricaded by Anarchists Inslee replied he didn’t know anything about it! Are you f….. kidding me? Incompetent!!!

Nellie · June 26, 2020 at 7:55 pm

I often hear, people use the term, “We The People” when it comes to being empowered by our constitution, but I don’t know how to interpret that. What power do we actually have when we live in a hugely democratic state? We can campaign, contact our elected officials, donate, share our concerns and viewpoints on social media and in our communities and vote. I am so grateful for these rights, but when it comes to enacting change, what other “powers” do we really have? I understand how difficult (seemingly impossible) it is for a republican governor to be elected in Washington State. This year however, I feel like the climate is ripe for change. My frustration is that there are 9+ republican candidates running for governor. Our primary vote will decide the top two candidates, regardless of party, and we can be certain the the incumbent governor will be one of those two. The number of republican candidates could split the vote so many ways that one of the other democratic candidates could end up as the other primary winner. I know that there are many qualified republican candidates. It seems to me that this just might be the year for them to meet together, come to a consensus as to who should run, and then throw ALL of their energy and support behind that person. And quick. “We the Republican People” of Washington state need unity, not a contest of egotism. If these candidates want to really serve their state by sacrificing selflessly, it seems like that this would be the most noble way of doing it. There are several wonderful candidates. I don’t have a favorite. I just don’t want to see our current governor re-elected. We need a strong candidate that we can all unite behind so that our vote will be too large to be stolen once the votes are counted in the fall. Don’t bother telling me that this is a fantasy, or why one candidate is more qualified than the others. I’m just looking at the plain and simple truth of the statement “united we stand, divided we fall”. Thank you.
