WSRP Response to President Biden’s State of the Union Address

BELLEVUE — President Joe Biden addressed the nation last night claiming Americans are much better off today than we were one year ago. Washington State Republican Party Chairman Caleb Heimlich issued the following statement to highlight what President Biden conveniently left out of his address.

The most troubling omission of the night was Joe Biden’s refusal to highlight the 13 servicemembers who lost their lives for our country in Afghanistan due to his administration’s incompetent and chaotic withdrawal. The 13 American families who lost loved ones in Afghanistan this past August deserved to be recognized by the President for their sacrifices to our great nation.

Chairman Heimlich said, “Joe Biden is hard-pressed to find successes for his administration to highlight to the American people. The State of the Union address was riddled with omissions and the endorsement of many long-held Republican positions, including the need to keep our police departments fully funded and to secure our southern border.”

Chairman Heimlich continued, “The Biden administration has done nothing but give lip service to these pressing issues; allowing fentanyl and other drugs to pour across our border, decimating our citizens with life-altering addictions. Where was Joe Biden during the Defund the police movement? Our cities are less safe now than they have been in decades all thanks to the whole-hearted endorsement from the party he claims to lead, the Democrat Party. This administration has provided no real action, and I would argue that the actions they have taken are in direct contradiction to what President Biden told the American people.

On the economy: With rampant inflation, now at a 40-year high, rising gas prices, and supply-chain issues – Democrats are gaslighting America with their ‘successes.’ The fact is, most Americans are worse off now than they were a year ago.
