The State House Democrats unveiled their budget proposal this afternoon in Olympia. We knew it would be bad, but we didn’t know it would be this bad.

A Capital Gains Income Tax, an increase in the Business and Operation Tax, an increase in the Real-Estate Excise Tax – those are just a few of the ways Washington House Democrats plan to fund their reckless, mismanaged budget totaling $52.6 BILLION in taxpayer money.

Without any new taxes, the state is projected to take in nearly $4.5 BILLION in new revenue for a total of nearly $50.6 BILLION for the 2019-2020 budget, but Democrats still want more!

Democrats are raising taxes solely for the sake of raising taxes and satisfying their liberal base. Their far-left Seattle-style ideology is literally taking money from your savings and putting Washington’s financial future in jeopardy.

The Legislature has a budget surplus and is in its best starting position in decades. Republicans have shown they can easily write a budget that funds all of our state priorities without raising any new taxes – and have even called for tax cuts! We can fix Governor Inslee’s broken mental health system, address rampant homelessness, combat the opioid epidemic and fund our K-12 education all with existing revenues.

The people of Washington State deserve a government that truly works for them, not the agenda-driven government that Democrats are implementing. That’s why we’re working hard organizing around the state and why the effort we all put in everyday to get more Republicans elected is so important!

After seeing what Democrats and the socialist destruction they have done to the state of Washington I’m furious with the people of Seattle and Tacoma for letting the our elected officials get away with turning our state into a hot bed for drug addicted homeless criminals destroy or state and then letting them start a state tax! We need to clean up the state of Washington and get rid of the idea that socialism works! Democrats ruined this state and all it’s hard working citizens!

That explains how state and federal lawmakers are worth millions upon leaving office. By pleasing corporations/lobbyists who line their pockets in creative ways via increasing taxes and laundering the money. Representing the people my tush! I’m sick and tired of democratic constituents drinking the Kool Aid and putting these morons in office!!

Gary Ottman · April 22, 2019 at 5:49 pm

I am sharing our families view on any new taxes. We do not want any taxes levied on our house hold because we are retired and experiencing living on a fixed income.

Ronald Killian · April 23, 2019 at 8:05 am

Tried to sign petition but won’t come up!

Merna Kochel · April 23, 2019 at 10:31 am

No State Income Tax!

Eleanor L. Cortez · April 26, 2019 at 2:34 pm

NO more new taxes until we have a better accounting of where the taxes that have been voted in have been used…….ex: lottery taxes for education….what programs have received money and how much. You are taxing the middle class out of Washington State and show no proper use of what you take in.

I want to easily be able to navigate (place prominently on your website) voting roles for those republicans voting for and against important bills. Governor Insley signs”state sanctuary” bill and there is no mention of it on your website. Maybe you should reevaluate your communication department.

I only hope the Dumocrats recognize that at some point in time the well is going to go dry. Why not help the Disabled Vets of Washington State who do own homes and property and pass legislation that they don’t have to pay property taxes if they are 100% disabled. Virginia did this with great results. They even gave them back 5 years worth of taxes. The state doesn;t need to increase taxes. What the state needs is people in the government who recognize what the voters want and need not what the currently elected want.
