BELLEVUE — The Washington State Republican Party (WSRP) today released the following statement in response to the Washington State Redistricting Commission unveiling draft Legislative District maps:

“Democrats are trying to gerrymander our Legislative Districts and stop the voters from deciding elections. Republicans are working to give more voters a choice on election day.” said WSRP Chairman Caleb Heimlich. “The Democrat Commissioners’ draft redistricting maps are the definition of political hackery with the majority of seats drawn to be safe and keep Democrats in perpetual control. Voters deserve competitive districts not gerrymandered franken-districts and unlike the Washington State Democrats, we will not be retracting this statement.”
