WSRP STATEMENT ON BOB FERGUSON PROMOTING CONSPIRACY THEORY

BELLEVUE – Chairman Heimlich released the following statement regarding Attorney General Bob Ferguson’s attempt to capitalize on COVID-19 fear to benefit his re-election campaign.

“Attorney General Bob Ferguson should be ashamed. In a time of crisis, elected officials must communicate clearly and promote unity to protect the public’s health.”

“Instead, Bob Ferguson sent out a fear mongering fundraising e-mail saying President Trump would ‘use the global coronavirus pandemic to delay or cancel the November general election.’ Ironically, this shameless email came just a week after Ferguson warned the public about financial scams that ‘prey on Washingtonians’ good will’ and said his office is ‘on the lookout for individuals preying on our generosity during this crisis.’”

“Ferguson’s fundraising e-mail was a scam. Our Attorney General is promoting fringe conspiracy theories to raise money and grow his list.”

“When many Washingtonians are worried about their health and economic future, Bob Ferguson once again proves that he is only worried about his political future.”
