WSRP Regional Field Director – Pierce County

Location: Pierce County, WA

Reports to: WSRP Political Director and WSRP Executive Director

Position Summary

The Washington State Republican Party is seeking to hire a Regional Field Director to execute the WSRPs field strategy in the Pierce County for the 2020 campaign cycle. Field staff play an important role in our strategic plan to elect Republicans at the state and federal levels in Washington State. Field staff are integral to the success of our grassroots teams.

The Regional Field Director will be a staff member of the Washington State Republican Party whose focus will be cultivating relationships with campaigns, stakeholders, and neighborhood grassroots teams in their region. They will manage volunteer teams, execute the WSRP voter outreach plan for 2020, and will act as a liaison between the WSRP and Republican campaigns. The Regional Field Director will receive intensive training on how to organize neighborhood teams, manage a localized voter outreach program, and how to execute a Get Out the Vote (GOTV) program.

Responsibilities include

  • Recruit, train, and coordinate activists/volunteers/paid canvassers in your region.
  • Foster growth and activity in local grassroots teams and with local activists
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, volunteers, county party members, and campaigns
  • Track activity of grassroots teams
  • Identify and engage directly with voters in targeted districts
  • Garner support for Republican candidates in your region
  • Ensure responsible and proper handling of voter data
  • Help organize Super Saturdays (canvassing events), phone banks, various campaign events, and other activist events
  • Provide regular reports to the Political Director
  • Meet goals and complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner
  • Coordinate and cooperate with Republican candidates and campaigns
  • Explore opportunities for engagement and cooperation with issue specific, ethnic, and religious coalition groups
  • Additional duties as requested by the Political Director

  • Ability to effectively communicate tasks to paid canvassers and unpaid staff

  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Able to work flexible hours, evenings and/or weekends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Government, Political Science, Pre-Law, or other related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in campaigns or political organizing
